The Pre-primary students of NPS NORTH celebrated Blue Day on Tuesday, 21st March 2023. The colour “BLUE” that depicts the calmness of sky and coolness of water was introduced in an interactive and lively way.
The pleasant shades of blue added life, serenity, and vigour to the campus. Confident kindergarteners and faculty were attired in different hues of blue. Early identification of colours helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words which is an important part of a child’s development.
Excitement and enthusiasm were visible everywhere, as it was a popularly loved colour by most. Students recognized the colour blue through different games and play-way activities. Purposefully planned class activities enabled the students to enhance their logical and reasoning minds. While, nursery classes were engaged in a colouring activity, KG 1 students enjoyed free hand drawing and painting aquatic animals in their drawing books. KG 2 children linked the colour to their world- ‘Earth-a Blue Planet’. It was interesting to note how many of them related the colour to their blue graduation robes and caps, adorned by them barely few days ago.
A special assembly was organised where the students spoke about some interesting facts about objects that are naturally blue in colour. The myth of water being blue was also addressed by mixing different colours in water to show that the seas and oceans reflect the blue skies.
In conclusion, it was one of the last colour days celebrated in the year 2022-23 and students made the most of the entire day, as usual holistic learning integrated with experiential learning, the signature style of NPS-NORTH.
