On Thursday, 10th August 2023, Grade VII A students took center stage to deliver a compelling assembly on a topic of great importance – ‘Gender Equality’.

The assembly elucidated the concept of gender equality with clarity and conviction. It was made abundantly clear that gender equality is a fundamental human right that forms the bedrock of a just and prosperous society. The students emphasized the importance of equal rights, responsibilities, and opportunities for all individuals, irrespective of their gender.

The assembly delved into the nuances of everyday life. Gender stereotypes were brought into sharp focus and the need to break down these stereotypes to foster a more inclusive society.

Few students participated in a ‘Role Play’ to represent some of the great and successful personalities of India like – Captain Abhilasha Barak, Joyita Mondal, Savitribai Phule, Shah Bano Begum, Kiran Bedi, P. V. Sindhu, and Kalpana Chawla, who were successful in their professional careers and supported for the progress of gender equality whole heartedly.

In their conclusion, the students drove home the point that gender equality isn’t a women’s issue or a men’s issue; it’s a human issue. They left the audience with a call to action, urging everyone to work collectively to build a world where every individual, regardless of their gender, can thrive and reach their full potential. It is our hope that this assembly serves as a catalyst for ongoing conversations and actions in our school community towards a more equitable future.
