The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world annually on June 21 since its inception in the United Nations General Assembly 2014 as a practice which originated in ancient India . The science of yoga is deep rooted in its understanding that every aspect of human body from inhalation to muscular movement and meditation is essential for physical and mental well-being.
The special assembly to celebrate International Yoga Day was presented by Aqua House, NPS – NORTH on 21st June 2023. The assembly led by students reflected on the following quote:
“Yoga is a philosophy of discipline and meditation that transforms the spirit and makes the individual a better person in thought, action , knowledge and devotion” .-Narendra Modi
The teacher talk on Yoga Day was informative and enlightened the students about the science behind Yoga and its relevance in today’s times. A team of students demonstrated few yoga asanas which was diligently followed by the audience. The quiz anchored by students covered the history and chronology of events that led to Yoga movement across the world. The participation proved that the students are actively learning and reading beyond the subjects in the classroom.
National Public School, NORTH brought in a deeper connection to a holistic approach to well-being through the International Yoga Day Celebration. The event served as a reminder of the transformative power of yoga and motivated students to continue their journey towards a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
