National Public School- NORTH organized a Parent Orientation Programme on Saturday, 20 th May 2023. The objective was to meet the newly enrolled parents and enable a two-way communication with parents onboarding them as collaborators in the system. Two separate sessions were conducted for parents of Pre-Primary section and Grade 1-2 parents.
At NPS- NORTH we believe that the communication is the key. We keep our parents informed not only about their ward’s performance in academics but also about plethora of opportunities provided for their holistic development. From orientation programs to regular parent-teacher meetings, we believe in transparent communication with our parents.
The Orientation began with the school prayer and an introduction to the team. Dr Gopalkrishna’s vision and mission were highlighted to ensure that the school was following in the same legacy laid out by him when he began 60 years ago.
A walk-through of the curriculum, both scholastic and co-scholastic aspects, expectations, leave policies, rules and regulations of the school and an overall description of the school system was provided. The parents were briefed about the importance of discipline, etiquette and grooming and how they contributed strongly to the overall development of a student. It was reiterated that birthday celebrations to be modest, no tangible gifts to be given to any staff in school. Dignity and valuing of services to be extended to support staff, bus attendants, drivers and all staff as they ensure a safe environment for every student.
Channels of communication for parents in terms of e-mail id’s, school telephone numbers, respective heads of the school, transport and uniform vendors were all displayed to enable hassle free communication for parents in case of any trouble-shooting or issue they may face during the year.
It concluded with a healthy, interactive, and purposeful Q/A session which helped parents clarify queries ranging from academics, to transport, to school timing, food to be packed during break time and a host of miscellaneous doubts.
The school management promised to create a happy, safe, and secure campus for all its students to the best of their abilities, which was possible if the parents continued to trust and believe in the school.
The entire programme validated the quote by Henry Ford, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.”
