On Thursday, 28th July 2022, students of Gr 6 at National Public School- NORTH celebrated their first special assembly for the academic year 2022-2023. The theme of the assembly was World Nature Conservation Day, which is observed on July 28th every year.

The assembly started with the school prayer as is the customary practice The thought for the resonated with  the theme for the assembly The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” By Robert Swan

After updating us with the current affairs the theme was presented by a student with a one act roleplay  in which Mother Earth urged  us to be mindful and conservative in the way we misuse   the valuable resources  the  bountiful planet Earth has bestowed on us .

“I’m your mother Earth, I’m your home,

Please help me, save me, I’m your own.”

This was followed by a group song to see what we can do, to save the planet for me and you. Let’s see what we can do, To save the planet for me and you.

The highlight of the day was a recitation on nature which was delivered fluently by the poet himself who is a student of Gr 6.The theme was depicted well by with students and they could convey the message of following sustainable practices for self and conservation of resources . The damage to the  planet  Earth is caused  mostly by needs and demands  of human beings. They also depicted how we need to bring about a change in our lifestyles to be able to leave behind a healthy planet for future generations to come. The assembly was well conducted and enthusiastically received by the audience
