The Intramural Sports Inauguration and National Sports Day Celebration for the academic year 2025-26 at National Public School, NORTH, was a significant event held on the morning of 29th August 2025. The occasion fostered a palpable sense of pride and enthusiasm throughout the campus. The celebration took on a spirited momentum as the Principal, hoisted the school flag. This act symbolised not only the unity of the school community but also a commitment to excellence and achievement.
Students from Grades 6 to 11 marched past in perfect formation during the impressive march past, their disciplined movements reflecting coordination and an unwavering team spirit. The applause from the audience echoed across the field. As the excitement continued to build, the lighting of the torch signified the ignition of passion for sportsmanship and fair play. The symbolic oath-taking ceremony inspired participants to uphold values deeply rooted in the world of sports. The Principal’s encouraging words resonated throughout the assembly, urging students to embrace perseverance and the essence of teamwork as they embarked on this athletic journey together. With a resounding declaration, the Intramural Sports Meet 2025-26 was officially declared open, signalling the start of friendly competition.
This day held special significance as it featured a tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, India’s legendary Hockey Wizard, whose remarkable achievements continue to inspire countless aspiring athletes. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the younger students from Grades 1 and 2 showcased their talents through vibrant drill displays, infusing the ground with a burst of colour, rhythm, and infectious energy. The Tug of War event among the four Houses—AQUA, IGNIS, TERRA, and VENTUS—created moments of thrill and exhilaration, each house rallying behind their teams with fervent cheers and encouragement. In the fiercely contested Boys Category, AQUA emerged victorious, while Ventus House proudly claimed the second place. In the Girls Category, Ventus House shone brightly, claiming the championship, with Terra securing a commendable second position.
As the day drew to a close, a heartfelt Vote of Thanks was expressed, acknowledging the contributions of all involved. The celebration culminated with the playing of the National Anthem, filling hearts with a profound sense of pride, unity, and an eager anticipation for the sporting events that lay ahead. The overall ambiance captured the true essence of sports: discipline, dedication, and determination.
