Enhancing Senior Secondary Learning through Experiential Education
On March 24, 2026, the Grade 12 Commerce students of National Public School NORTH stepped out of the classroom into the dynamic world of manufacturing for an educational visit to IFB Industries Limited, Whitefield, Bangalore. This initiative was designed to take learning beyond the pages of textbooks, providing students with the practical exposure needed to understand complex industrial operations in real-world settings.
The goal was to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, allowing students to see how business concepts are implemented. During the tour, they explored the product lifecycle, including raw material procurement and inventory management, and observed automated assembly line testing. The visit highlighted the importance of organisational structure, showing how departments such as Finance, HR, Production, and Marketing collaborate to improve efficiency. Overall, the experience at IFB Industries Limited made abstract business strategies tangible, enhancing students’ academic understanding and sparking interest in careers in industry and business.
At National Public School NORTH, the core of academic planning for Senior Secondary students, particularly in the Commerce stream, is centred on experiential learning. The school recognises that while theoretical knowledge provides a foundation, true comprehensive learning occurs when students step beyond the classroom walls. Educational field trips are integrated into the curriculum to ensure that complex concepts are understood through real-life connectivity.
