World Environment Day: Cultivating Environmental Stewardship

On 5 June 2026, the school commemorated World Environment Day through a formal assembly organised by Grade 9A students. The event emphasised the critical importance of environmental protection, sustainability, and the stewardship of natural resources.

The programme included a quiz and a panel discussion in which students personified natural elements—Earth, Water, Air, and Trees—highlighting issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change. A dance performance further celebrated the natural world.

A ‘Myth vs Reality’ segment addressed prevalent misconceptions regarding the environment and disseminated factual information on sustainability and conservation. Additionally, a faculty address promoted the adoption of eco-friendly practices and responsible citizenship. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, reinforcing the collective commitment to ecological well-being at both national and global levels.

Concurrently, Grade VIII students visited the Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra (GKVK) campus to participate in the World Environment Day programme.

The visit included exploration of various research and demonstration units, such as the Botanical Garden, Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Garden, Integrated Farming System, Biochar Production, Madhuvana, Biofuel, and Hydroponics Units.

This excursion provided insights into sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and advancements in scientific farming practices, fostering students’ appreciation for sustainability.
Such initiatives extend learning beyond the classroom and nurture environmentally conscious citizens.
