Cultures in Harmony: Onam and Gondola Festival Come Alive at NPS – NORTH
On 25th August 2026, the Pre-Primary Department of National Public School – NORTH came alive with the vibrant celebration of Onam and the Regatta Gondola Festival. The assembly sparkled with student performances that brought the rich cultures of Kerala and Venice to life.
The celebration began with a heartfelt prayer, a calendar update, and an inspiring Thought for the Day. Dressed in vibrant Kerala attire, students shared the spirit of Onam, recounting its traditions and the tale of King Mahabali and Vamana, shining a light on kindness and generosity. The air buzzed with excitement as a spirited Kerala folk dance set the festive mood.
Students took the audience on a virtual journey to Venice, introducing the Regatta Gondola Festival and sharing facts about gondolas. The Gondola Parade Dance highlighted teamwork and togetherness.
Students eagerly joined in a vibrant Pookalam activity and adorned boat cut-outs with colourful flowers, weaving together the traditions of Onam and the Venice gondola festival. These hands-on activities sparked creativity and deepened their connection to both celebrations.
The celebration overflowed with joy and discovery, inspiring students to embrace diverse cultures while nurturing unity and friendship. The day ended with hearts full of cherished memories.
