“Brown is neither a basic nor primary colour, but for humans it is constantly present in nature- it is the colour of earth, rocks and sand, bark of trees- hence can be considered an important colour of everyday life.” – Kunio Fukuda

In a delightful fusion of learning and fun, Pre-Primary students of NPS-NORTH recently celebrated Brown Day integrated with Chocolate Day on Thursday 11th July 2024. The event aimed to enhance colour recognition skills and provide sensory experiences through the universally loved theme of chocolate.

The thought shared, “Chocolate is a happiness that we can eat” brought an instant expression of joy and happiness on the young faces. Following this, a student of KG IIA dressed as a chef demonstrated the process of making home-made chocolate and shared recipes, which had the audience enthralled.

The young learners participated in creative craft activities including fork painting, decorating doughnuts with sprinkles, and colouring ice cream cones. Fun games like ‘Ring the brown objects’ reinforced the day’s theme. Students and teachers came dressed in various shades of brown, creating a visually cohesive environment.

The celebration concluded with a classroom discussion about healthy eating habits, balancing the enjoyment of treats like chocolate with nutritious food choices.
