“The Earth is what we all have in common.” – Wendell Berry
On June 5, 2025, the students of Grade VII A at National Public School, NORTH conducted a special assembly to celebrate the World Environment Day with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility towards nature. The event began with a heartfelt prayer, invoking blessings for a greener and healthier planet. Following the prayer, a student presented the ‘Thought for the Day’, emphasizing the importance of living in harmony with nature. The thought inspired everyone to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and highlighted the role of individual actions in protecting the environment. The assembly set a thoughtful and reflective tone for the day and successfully raised awareness about environmental conservation among students and teachers alike.
The assembly featured a brief yet powerful presentation on the significance of the World Environment Day, discussing its origin and this year’s theme, ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. Students emphasized the urgent need for global action to safeguard our ecosystem. An exciting quiz on environmental themes engaged the audience, tested their knowledge about climate change and sustainable practices, and also encouraged active participation and curiosity among peers. This was followed by a soulful rendition by the students echoing the theme of environmental conservation and the need to combat the crisis through sustainable alternatives.
To wrap up the assembly, a teacher shared valuable insights about the day’s importance, inspiring everyone to take personal responsibility for a cleaner future. The gathering concluded with a pledge, where all attendees promised to protect the environment and promote sustainability. Overall, the assembly was a meaningful experience that motivated students to take small yet significant steps toward a sustainable future.
