During the week of 23rd to 27th September 2024, students from Grades I to V at NPS-NORTH embarked on an exciting educational field trip to the Rangoli Gardens-Model Heritage Village, duly accompanied by their class teachers and Sports teachers.
The day began with an energetic bus ride as the students sang songs, shared snacks, and played games during the journey, setting the tone for a fun-filled day ahead.
Upon arriving at the venue, the students were immediately captivated by the rustic charm of the surroundings. The students began with a guided exploration wherein they observed a visual presentation of ancient organic farming methods. The first activity was pottery, where the students learned the art of shaping clay into beautiful pots. Under the guidance of skilled artisans, the students got a hands-on experience, and proudly carried their self-made clay creations home. The students were then treated to a Magic Show, where the magician performed a series of tricks, leaving the children both curious and delighted.
Next on the agenda was the Tonga Ride, which was a huge hit among the children. Riding in the horse-drawn carriage through the village gave them a thrilling experience in a traditional mode of transportation.
This unique place offered a fascinating glimpse into the traditional village life explaining the various aspects of rural life, including agriculture, crafts, and traditions, recreational activities in Karnataka. Rangoli Gardens has meticulously documented how the people of rural Karnataka lived, worked and co-existed in ancient times, which was a valuable learning for present generation.
Overall, the field trip was a perfect blend of education and entertainment. It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and lasting memories, a truly holistic experience.
