Underwater Wonders: A Journey into Aquatic Life
Grade I and II students of NPS NORTH visited Aquarium Paradise to learn about aquatic life. The trip aimed to foster curiosity and provide hands-on experiences related to their Science curriculum on living things. Students were expected to identify marine animals, describe fish characteristics, and connect observations to their studies. The highlight of the trip was a live Mermaid Show, which illustrated differences between humans and fish in breathing.
Throughout their adventure, the students gleaned invaluable insights, including the rich diversity of life, discovering that creatures inhabit water in myriad shapes, sizes, and colours. They learned how fish adeptly use their fins to navigate their watery homes and came to appreciate the vital importance of preserving the ocean’s beauty to safeguard these amazing animals. In addition to enhancing their understanding of marine biology, the children expanded their vocabulary with new terms like aquarium, tropical, reef, and invertebrate.
The trip proved to be an unforgettable and enriching experience, leaving a lasting impression on the Grade I and II students and breathing life into their curriculum on living things and their habitats.
