On Friday, 13th September, students from Grades I to VIII at NPS-NORTH celebrated Hindi Diwas, marking the importance of Hindi as the official language of India. The assembly aimed to construct respect and love for the language among students and highlight its role in uniting the diverse cultures of the country.
The students put on engaging performances, which included songs and poems by younger students, focussing on themes of unity and love for the motherland in the Hindi language.
The students brought vibrancy to the dance “Hindi Bharath Maa Ki Bindi” with their expressive performances.
The older students performed an engaging skit depicting a conference between a few great personalities of Hindi poetry, such as Mahadevi Verma and Harivansh Rai Bachchan, showcasing short snippets of their work.
In the Teacher Talk segment, the Hindi teacher addressed the audience, speaking about the enduring relevance of Hindi in contemporary times and the language that binds our diverse nation together. She highlighted the significance of this day across India to honor the adoption of Hindi as the official language of the Indian government in 1949.
The celebration successfully instilled a sense of honour and passion for Hindi among the students. Through various performances, they were reminded that Language is not just a means of communication; it’s a gateway to culture, identity, and heritage.
