The students of Grade 3C at NPS NORTH organized an inspiring assembly on Monday 30th September to raise awareness about the International Day of Food Loss and Waste. The assembly aimed to educate students about the importance of reducing food wastage and preserving resources for future generations.
Students shared powerful thoughts and speeches with a clear message that food is precious, and we are fortunate to have enough. Important statistics like one-third of all food produced globally goes to waste was highlighted strongly.
The students performed a lively skit highlighting how food is often wasted due to careless habits like taking too much food on the plate, and the lack of meal planning. It ended with the message that through mindful eating and saving leftovers, we can contribute to reducing food waste.
The teacher talk segment shared practical tips with the students about how we can make a difference. She suggested better storage methods and how to be creative with leftovers.
