“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader!”
On 11th September 2024, National Public School NORTH students of Grade 3D brought the above adage to life with an energetic and inspiring assembly to mark International Literacy Day. The assembly commenced with a welcome note, prayer, and pledge, setting the tone for a celebration of the power of reading and education.
The students spoke about the significance of literacy, emphasizing its crucial role in acquiring knowledge, understanding the world, and expressing thoughts effectively.
A vibrant skit demonstrated how “A book is a Dream You Hold in Your Hands,” unlocking imagination and adventure, portraying inspiring characters like Kalpana Chawla, Hermione Granger and many others. The powerful thought for the day, reminded all – “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.” A teacher’s motivational speech about few passionate individuals who achieved literacy despite all odds concluded the assembly on a high note, leaving the audience inspired. The day truly celebrated the transformative power of literacy!
