National Broadcasting Day 2026-27

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Grade IX C students held an enlightening special assembly to honour National Broadcasting Day. The assembly emphasised the importance of broadcasting in influencing communication, raising awareness, and safeguarding India’s history and culture.

The program started with a prayer and a Thought for the Day, highlighting broadcasting’s role in connecting people and inspiring change. Students then shared International, National, and Sports News to keep everyone updated. A speech on National Broadcasting Day discussed the history of organised radio broadcasting in India since 1927 and its impact on education. The audience also enjoyed interesting facts about the evolution of media, including radio and television.

The centrepiece of the assembly was a compelling skit titled ‘The Voice of Freedom: Azad Hind Radio.’ Through inspiring portrayals of notable figures such as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Captain Lakshmi Sahgal, along with two young freedom fighters, the students illustrated how Azad Hind Radio emerged as a symbol of courage, patriotism, and hope during India’s struggle for independence. The performance served as a poignant reminder of the crucial role that broadcasting played in igniting the spirit of freedom.

This was followed by a creative role-play titled ‘The Evolution of Broadcasting from Radio to Digital Media’, where Radio, Television, Cable Television and Smartphone were personified as characters and interacted with one another, demonstrating the evolution of communication technology over the years.

The entire programme was well-organised and confidently presented by the students of Grade IX C. It successfully conveyed the message that responsible media and communication are powerful tools for education, awareness, unity, and nation-building.
