“Honouring the Healers – Our Doctors”
Gratitude for the Magical Powers and Masked Healers
On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, the students of Grade XI C at National Public School – NORTH organised a special morning assembly on 1st July 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to doctors across the nation who selflessly dedicate their lives to serving humanity.
The assembly commenced with a prayer seeking the blessings of the Divine for good health and well-being. Carl Jung’s words, “Medicine cures diseases, but only doctors can cure patients,” were quoted as the Thought for the Day, thereby setting the tone for the special occasion.
The assembly featured a range of thoughtfully curated presentations, including a brief history of Doctor’s Day in India, its significance, and inspiring speeches highlighting the relentless efforts and sacrifices made by medical professionals. The assembly highlighted the significance of National Doctor’s Day, observed in memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician who served as the second chief minister in West Bengal, and made significant advances in the health care, education and infrastructure development.
A series of insightful speeches by students shed light on the challenges faced by doctors and their invaluable contribution, especially in times of crisis. One of the major highlights of the event was a skit titled ‘A Day in the Life of a Doctor’ which showcased the compassion, patience, and sacrifice that define a doctor’s journey. The emotional depth of the skit left a strong impact on the audience, thereby underscoring the theme of this year, “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?”
As part of the celebrations, the students of the Primary School expressed their heartfelt appreciation by gifting handmade cards to medical professionals during the Health Camp organized on the school campus from 30th June to 4th July 2025.
