National Mathematics Day is celebrated to honour the Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, a mathematical genius who made groundbreaking discoveries, whose contributions to the world of mathematics continues to inspire generations.
Students at National Public School – NORTH celebrated this day on 20th December 2024 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The day was marked with a series of events that showcased the significance of mathematics in our daily lives, while stimulating a love for the subject. A special segment based on the significance of National Mathematics Day launched the assembly.
The next event of the day featured a creative and lively role play. The young performers enacted the personas of some of the famous mathematicians, restructuring their innovative discoveries and contributions.
The audience were kept on edge with the Mathematical Quiz Competition which brought out the competitive spirit among the participants. The quiz proved to be an exciting and intellectually stimulating experience for all involved. The customary teacher’s talk included insightful views on the importance of mathematics and emphasized its significance in our life. A captivating musical performance by the students brought to life the intersection of creativity and mathematics. The students performed a group song in tune to their self-composed lyrics accompanied by a live band.
It was a day filled with learning and inspiration, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation in recognizing that the fundamentals of mathematics are necessary in daily lives for enhancing problem solving, analytical thinking and decision making skills.
