On Tuesday, 3rd December 2024, the pre-primary students of NPS-NORTH conducted an engaging and impactful assembly on Pollution Control Day. Themed “Recycle Today for a Better Tomorrow.” The event aimed to instil eco-conscious habits in students from an early and impressionable age, paving the way for a sustainable lifestyle in later years.
The young participants took center stage with great enthusiasm, delivering a mix of performances to emphasize the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. The thought shared “Take care of the Earth, and it will take care of you.” sent a simple yet powerful message. Through an interactive role-play, the students depicted the harmful effects of pollution and demonstrated simple yet effective waste management practices.
Students recited rhymes and sang songs about keeping the planet clean, inspiring their peers. A hands-on demonstration on segregating waste into dry and wet categories showcased practical knowledge that could be applied at home. Their enthusiasm and innocence left a lasting impression, reinforcing the idea that starting young can make sustainability a way of life.
The teacher concluded with a call for action statement- “Become Earth Helpers” and work together to protect the environment.
A hands-on activity in the classrooms followed, where students creatively depicted in their art books about types of pollution, their causes and ways to prevent the same.
