Students of Grade VII at National Public School NORTH observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day, through a special assembly to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the “Iron Man of India”. National Unity Day was introduced by the Indian government in 2014 to honour his invaluable contributions.
The students explained the importance of the day, noting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s role in national integration. To inspire the audience “manpower without unity is not a strength unless it is harmonized and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power” was the motivational thought shared. The assembly featured a “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge” reinforcing our commitment to India’s unity and integrity in our daily lives.
Following the pledge, a group of students took the stage to showcase the cultural diversity of India and displayed traditional attires from few states, representing various traditions, languages and performed a vibrant song celebrating unity which was well received for its expression of grace and enthusiasm.
The teacher talk segment of the assembly reiterated the theme “Strength in Unity, Progress in Diversity!” “One Nation, One Vision, One India!” The impactful assembly was a vivid reminder of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of a united India and instilled a sense of national pride and collective identity among students making it memorable and inspiring occasion for all attendees.
