The Pre-Primary students at National Public School-NORTH recently hosted a heartwarming event: Purple Day integrated with Friendship Day on Friday, 2nd August 2024. This special day combined the themes of Purple Day, which celebrates a sense of royalty, and Friendship Day, highlighting the importance of sharing and caring.
A special assembly conducted was informative with a song about friendship and the thought for the day by Dr Seuss, “To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world” resonated well with the theme for the day.
Students were engaged in making cards and exchanged with friends in class. They also participated in cooperative games that encouraged teamwork, reinforcing the importance of working together.
A highlight of the day was the special activity room where children explored colours and creativity. In a fun, hands-on activity, students learned how to create the colour purple by mixing red and blue paints. The Activity room was decorated with purple balloons, streamers, and crafts made by the students themselves. The children and staff donned purple outfits to take photos in a specially created purple photo booth..
The integration of Purple Day with Friendship was designed to be both educational and fun, ensuring that the children could grasp these important concepts through play and creative activities.
