Women’s Health Across Different Age Groups

“Take care of your body. It is the only place you live in.” – By Jim Rohn

On Thursday, 12 February 2026, the faculty members of National Public School, NORTH, participated in a thought-provoking session centred on women’s health, wellness, and self- care, led by Dr D. Sandhya Rani, a distinguished Lead Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from KIMS Hospital in Bangalore. This enlightening session sought to raise awareness of the importance of prioritising self-care, acknowledging that each age group faces distinct challenges associated with physiological changes in women’s bodies.

Delving into the intricacies of hormonal fluctuations, the session illuminated how these changes can manifest as various visible signs in a woman’s body. Dr Sandhya Rani emphasised the transformative power of good nutrition, restorative sleep, subtle lifestyle modifications, regular exercise, and effective stress-management techniques—practices that, when combined, can profoundly enhance a woman’s well-being.

The discussion extended to critical health topics, including urinary tract infections (UTIs), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), cancer, and essential screening processes for monitoring and maintaining health. The question-and-answer segment was particularly engaging, addressing pertinent questions about health screenings, dietary choices, and the prudent use of supplements.

As the session drew to a close, an overwhelming sense of enthusiasm and agreement emerged among faculty members, culminating in a shared commitment to designate the year 2026 as the Year of Self-Care and Well-being—a testament to their collective dedication to fostering healthier, happier lives.
