On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, Grades 3A and 3B held a special assembly in honour of World Braille Day. This day is celebrated annually on January 4th to commemorate the birthday of Louis Braille and to raise awareness around literacy and accessibility for individuals who are visually impaired.
The assembly commenced with the school prayer, followed by a ‘Thought for the Day’ and a skit that depicted the life of Louis Braille. The students witnessed the dramatisation of how young Louis lost his eyesight and how this challenge inspired him to create a revolutionary system of reading and writing for visually impaired individuals, known as the Braille system. Following the skit, students performed a dance that featured vibrant formations celebrating the resilience of visually impaired individuals and leaving the spectators in awe. Additionally, a student dressed as an ophthalmologist shared valuable tips and precautions for maintaining proper eye care.
