WORLD OCEAN DAY- Raising Awareness for Ocean Conservation
 
World Ocean Day was observed by the students of National Public School, NORTH on 8 June 2026 through a special assembly presented by students of Grade 5B, centered on the theme ‘The ocean has sent us a message’.The primary objective of the assembly was to raise awareness about the importance of oceans and promote their protection and sustainable management.
 
The programme included an informative presentation on the ecological and economic significance of the oceans, a creative role-play in which students personified the Ocean and various marine organisms, and an interactive quiz designed to engage participants across all Grades. The segment titled ‘Time Travel to 2050’ presented a dramatisation that effectively depicted the potential consequences of neglecting ocean stewardship.
 
The assembly concluded with the ‘Ocean Superheroes’ segment, during which students presented practical strategies for protecting marine ecosystems and mitigating pollution. Overall, the programme served as an effective platform for fostering environmental consciousness and motivating students to adopt responsible practices in support of planetary stewardship.
